Jenny by Jenny Yoo Octavia Gown style #1820B.

When I say this is my dream dress, I mean it -- unfortunately, due to COVID, we had to cancel our wedding, and I never got the chance to wear this dress. It's a classic look that isn't a fleeting trend - this style dress is elegant and timeless.

It is an ivory dress with thicker shoulder straps and a v-neck neckline. It is a gorgeous taffeta gown with an open back accented with angular illusion panels and the full A-line skirt extends into a sweeping train. It fits like a glove and is the most gorgeous, heavy fabric that looks and feels far more expensive than the price.

I ended up paying almost the price of the dress in alterations -- almost $900 in alterations -- because there were so many layers of fabric and the fabric is so delicate, and it was altered with a ballroom hem, which is very elegant. More on that below.

I ended up taking a few inches off the bottom and brought the straps up a little higher so it would be snugger. I added cups so that I wouldn't need to wear a bra or pasties.

The most impressive aspect of the alternations was that, instead of your typical American bustle that gathers in the back of your dress like a tail, I had them do a ballroom bustle - you pull the strings underneath and the train disappears so the dress becomes one length all around when it comes time to hit the dance floor.
